Norwich Cathedral is extraordinarily impressive with its Norman and Gothic Architecture however we were looking for evidence of Julian which we found in one of the panels of a stunning stained glass window of British saints including kings and founders of monasteries. Julian was the only woman represented. The modern statue in a niche near the West Porch was completed by sculptor David Holgate in 2000 to mark the new millenium. Josie and I were able to participate in a Festal Evensong at the Cathedral which ended with a procession of all of the clergy, choir members and congregation outside to this statue where a special hymn to Julian was sung and the blessing pronounced. I found it very moving as Holgate's statue captures for me Julian's compassionate heart and keen mind.
