From Ireland to Iona
The holy wells of Brigid,
the lakes of Kevin's Glendalough,
he crosses of Clonmacnoise,
and the wild beauty of Iona filled with Columba's spirit;
are the source of Celtic Christianity's reverence for all creation
and the inspiration for John O'Donohue's poems and teaching.
Northumbria to Norwich
Aidan heard the cry of the people of Northumbria and crossed the country to found his monastery on Lindisfarne - his and later Cuthbert's Holy Island. Aidan's gentle ways persauded many to follow Jesus and Hild to change her plans.
Some 700 years later a medieval merchant's daughter received revelations from God, and as the anchoress Julian of Norwich, she spent the next forty years sharing her understanding of the Divine.
Meditations from Gethsamani Abbey
There will be a full day session on Saturday 31st August commencing at 10 am at 27 Bridge Street and moving to Borthwick Park with lunch at the High Street Cafe. More details to come.
